Physical Therapy

The Physical Therapy Clinic provides evaluation and treatment of non-surgical musculoskeletal injuries and impairments. Physical therapy services are rendered at no charge for all NIU students taking on-campus classes. To receive physical therapy services, students must be referred by a private or Health Services physician.

Once a referral is obtained, appointments can be made by calling 815-753-1311. A missed appointment fee is assessed to students who miss or fail to cancel their appointment without giving appropriate notice.

Clinic Staff

The Physical Therapy Clinic is staffed by physical therapists who are licensed to practice in Illinois. The clinic also serves as a clinical education site for professional physical therapy students from NIU. Therefore, there are occasional times during the academic year when physical therapy students provide patient care activities which commensurate with their abilities. Student patient care activities are provided under the direct, on-site supervision of the physical therapist.

Physical Therapy Clinic Hours

Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

The clinic is open during the academic semesters and on a limited basis during the summer session. To schedule an appointment call 815-753-1311 during normal clinic hours.
