NIU Sexual Violence Resources
Provides reporting resources and services for victims/survivors and others impacted by interpersonal violence or sexual harassment.
NIU Counseling & Student Development Center
Provides personal counseling, follow-up support, counseling for secondary survivors of relationship violence, and also support during medical and police investigation.
Investigation on reported cases of relationship violence including interviewing survivor and collecting evidence (Anonymous reporting available). Follow-up investigation for possible prosecution.
Huskie Safe Ride
This offers shuttle ride service during late night hours after the Huskie Bus Line stops running. This free service is available to NIU students, faculty, and staff as well as community members with disabilities. Riders must present a valid NIU One Card or Illinois Person with a Disability Identification Card to use the service and are allowed to bring a guest with them.
A group of students, under the supervision of NIU's Department of Public Safety, patrols the campus and is available to escort students from 6:00 pm to 2:00 am, Monday through Friday.
NIU Office of Community Standards & Student Conduct
Will provide an official judicial review of the alleged relationship violence. In appropriate cases, temporary sanctions will be issued to assure survivors safety.
NIU Health Services
Medical evaluations and treatment available by walk-in or appointment. Follow-up service available as necessary.
Victim Advocacy Services
Victim Advocacy Services at Northern Illinois University is available to ALL students who have been directly or indirectly impacted by sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking to provide free and confidential services
