Institutional Research

Institutional Research conducts research, prepares analytical studies and reports. Tasked with gathering, summarizing and analyzing data relevant to students, faculty, staff, costs, programs and policies. We conduct activities in order to meet the data and analytical needs of the entire university.

IT Technical Associate
Description of Duties

Analyzes, develops, tests and/or modifies hardware and software solutions to meet Office of Institutional Research user and/or system integration requirements. Reviews, analyzes and recommends the best approach and overall design for computer application development and programming projects for statistical and research applications in an institutional research context. Designs logical and physical data models to complete data analysis. and Coordinates database to optimize data access and security. Installs new, modified, or third party software releases and/or updates. Modifies existing software and creates special-purpose software to ensure efficiency and integrity between systems and applications for institutional research analytic and reporting requirements. Develops program specifications and reviews with Office of Institutional Research users to ensure that requirements are met. Conduct feasibility studies on Oracle systems and prepares specifications and flowcharts for implementing new programs or modification to OBIEE. Evaluate and supplement Oracle supplied documentation for institutional research application. Create relational database. Troubleshoots and resolves database and data problems to support institutional research reporting and analytic requirements. Monitors, analyzes and verifies data to ensure data integrity. Maintains the institutional research database archives by acquiring and installing datasets and documentation. Assist in data transfers or sharing of files for institutional research staff and application. Develop presentations on current and future IT plans or services. Work with functional resources to design reports and dashboards utilizing front end reporting that summarize and present specific institutional research reports and findings.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in computer science, computer information systems, information technology or engineering and three months of experience in position offered or IT application or institutional research.

Special requirements

Three months’ experience with designing logical and physical data models, completing data analysis and ensuring data security. Pre-employment background check and verification of eligibility to work in U.S. required.
