If I had three words to describe the campus environment for LGBTQ students I would say … inviting, liberal, intelligent.
NIU is a good school for LGBTQ students because … There is evidence of LGBT support all over campus. Our school has training for Allies and there are Ally signs in many offices around campus, especially in our student health center where feeling safe is very important.
The LGBT Resource Center has helped me by … I have come out to my professors and found the support of our LGBT Resource Center to be extremely helpful during this process.
My experience as an LGBTQ student at NIU has been … I have come out to all faculty members in my program, and they have all been extremely supportive. Whenever an LGBT topic comes up, faculty have been supportive.
