Presidential Award for Excellence

The Supportive Professional Staff (SPS) Presidential Award for Excellence recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the university. Each year, four recipients are honored for their accomplishments with $1,500 and a plaque. An individual can only receive the award once, though they can be nominated multiple times.

Nomination Process

You can nominate someone by filling out the nomination form. You'll also upload a nomination letter and three letters of support. Your nomination letter should discuss the nominee's contributions to the university and their support of NIU initiatives. It should indicate contributions that go above and beyond the nominee's regular job responsibilities.

Nominees will be asked to forward a vita when they are informed by the committee of their nomination.
