Huskie Closet is open for all your clothes.
Help your budget and the Earth by "shopping" at the Huskie Closet, operated by the Center for Nonprofit and NGO Studies, located in the Chick Evans Field House on the corner of Lucinda Avenue and Annie Glidden Road. During the spring 2023 semester, the Huskie Closet is open every Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and every Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. NIU students can shop for free, and we carry business and casual clothing and shoes in a warm, welcoming environment. All are welcome. Want to get involved? Consider donating extra clothes or volunteering at the closet. Spend an hour or two folding and arranging clothes, organizing clothing drives, or sharing information with student organizations and other campus units.
Parents, am I right?
Professor Mary Lynn Henningsen from the Department of Communication is recruiting research participants for a study on repeated parent advice (HS23-0211). This online study takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete and involves describing a conversation with a parent (e.g., mother, father, stepparent, foster parent, or other parental figure) when the parent repeated information that they had previously shared, completing survey items about the conversation and family, and describing your demographic information. If you would be interested in participating, please use the following link to access the survey (or copy and paste this address into your browser https://niu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9HL1fqhdU4nF4kC). After the survey, you can voluntarily provide contact information to be entered into a gift card drawing. There are several $25 gift cards that will be given to randomly selected participants.

"Something I have found pleasantly surprising about my experience at NIU is how quickly individuals working in different departments will respond to any questions that you may have. Whether it's the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office, Health Services or Parking Services, I’ve been able to send emails or engage in conversations over the phone with these departments to quickly and efficiently resolve any questions I have. A 5-step plan to improve your study habits
Studying much? You might be using the classic moves. You know—rewriting all your notes into newer, bigger notes; highlighting all the things; and generally cramming information into your brain. Sometimes those moves work just fine. But what if you’re looking for more than “just fine”? And what if you could get there with a little less stress and a little more purpose?
