Teaching and Research Assistantships
We award a large number of full- and part-time graduate teaching and research assistantships each year. Teaching assistant duties may include classroom instruction under appropriate faculty supervision, assisting with undergraduate lab sections, or working with undergraduates in independent study. Research assistants support the programs of faculty members to whom they are assigned.
Graduate School Fellowships
The Graduate School offers a limited number of fellowships awarded annually on a university-wide competitive basis to graduate students with outstanding performance. These include University Fellowships for M.A. students and Dissertation Completion Fellowships. Learn more on the Graduate School funding page.
Stipends
Full-time assistantships (20 hours per week) offer monthly stipends ranging from $1,372.06 to $1,392.06, depending on training level and responsibilities. Half-time assistantships may also be available with proportional reductions. Appointments may span nine to twelve months. All assistantships include tuition remission for the academic year and summer. Students are responsible for fees and required insurance.
