Why Sociology and Criminology?

Sociology and criminology are fascinating and diverse fields of study, examining the dynamics of social life, social change and the factors that drive and shape human behavior, including crime. In examining topics such as prejudice and discrimination, immigration, social movements, and crime and punishment, sociologists and criminologists seek a deeper understanding of the social institutions and cultural forces that shape our lives. At a time when technology is spurring social development and interaction at breakneck speeds, sociology is truly a major for the 21st century.
