Mobile Robotics

This research focuses on the design and development of mobile robots for diverse applications. Beyond entertainment, mobile robots are crucial for homeland security and for operating in hazardous environments where human presence is unsafe. These situations include handling hazardous materials, de-mining, collecting samples from dangerous locations like volcanoes, and inspecting suspicious areas. Professor Azad began his work in mobile robotics in 1997 at the University of Portsmouth, UK. His expertise in mobile robotics research lies in navigation and control.
