Transfer Students

Transfer Mission

In support of the academic mission of the university and the Divisions of Student Affairs and Academic Affairs, First-Year Experience (FYE) aims to help all first-year freshmen and transfer students successfully adjust to Northern Illinois University. Through student-focused programs, courses, and collaborative partnerships with faculty and staff, First-Year Experience strives to enhance students' academic achievement, increase the likelihood of students returning for their second year, and help students integrate into the academic and social communities found on NIU's campus.
