Submit your FAFSA before April 25

Submit your 2026-27 FAFSA by Saturday, April 25 at studentaid.gov to keep your aid on track. Questions? Contact the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office at finaid@niu.edu, call 815-753-1395 or visit Swen Parson Hall 245, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Huskie Food Pantry Wants Your Input
|
The Huskie Food Pantry is a resource for NIU students to use if they are in need of food. To ensure no area of campus is underrepresented, we want to help the Huskie Food Pantry obtain input, from students, about where they feel more resources may be necessary, specifically on the east side of Campus. Please help by completing this survey for our research purposes! Thank you!

Invitation to Participate in a Research Study
|
You are invited to participate in a research study about how college students respond to everyday social situations, including interactions with individuals with disabilities. This study aims to better understand students’ perceptions, experiences and responses in these contexts. Participation involves completing a confidential online survey that takes approximately 10–15 minutes. Your responses are anonymous, and participation is completely voluntary. You may skip any questions or stop at any time.
If you are 18 years or older and currently enrolled as a student, you are eligible to participate. Thank you for your time and consideration.

The Huskie bus system has been such an unexpected plus to my experience here at NIU. As a student who lives in a residence hall, the buses here have been such a life saver. They not only take you to and from classes, but also to restaurants nearby, downtown DeKalb, Walmart, TJ Maxx, Aldi, Ross and even the movie theater. If you miss the first bus taking you to class, you’re lucky because the next one will come in 15 minutes. The busing system here is very convenient and something incoming NIU students should consider.
