Rev. Matthew Johnson
The Rev. Matthew Johnson recently completed 17 years as the senior minister at The Unitarian Universalist Church, Rockford and now serves as a full-time consultant for Unitarian Universalist congregations across the Midwest. In his time in Rockford, he has served on a variety of boards, including Alignment Rockford and Rockford Promise, as well as a host of interfaith and national UU committees and organizations. He has working expertise in Adaptive Leadership, emergent strategy, Mission/Vision, Strategic Planning, conflict transformation, and related topics. A graduate of Whitman College, Meadville Lombard Theological School, and Iliff School of Theology, he’s also the author of Newborn Bards: A Theology of Preaching For Unitarian Universalists. He’s been to all 50 states, and walked pilgrimages in Israel, Transylvania, New England, and 560 miles of the Camino de Santiago in Spain.
