| Week of May 10, 2021 Contents: | | | Flextime arrangements available year-round Flextime arrangements continue to be available year-round to all employees, subject to operational needs and divisional procedures. Supervisors will continue to work to accommodate staff schedule preferences within the guidelines of this procedure, although it is recognized this may not always be feasible for every unit. University departments and offices are required to maintain full operations Monday through Friday, either in person or virtually. Supervisors are asked to continue to be flexible and innovative when meeting the operational needs of their area while supporting their employees. Employees working on campus must follow the COVID-19 safety protocols and guidelines outlined on the Protecting the Pack website. They also are encouraged to participate in the summer COVID-19 surveillance testing program and/or be vaccinated against COVID-19. Read more about available flextime options. |
| | Resources for Teaching Remotely | Teaching Tip of the Week Now more than ever, it is to grow and develop as online educators. We need to share with and learn from one another to build a community that values excellence in online teaching as we explore new strategies and tools. The Online Teaching Symposium, scheduled for May 24-26, is designed for creating these opportunities. It is not another workshop or presentation. The Symposium is a multi-day celebration of our outstanding faculty and instructors, an opportunity to connect with your colleagues in new ways, and a dynamic learning experience you build to meet your personal learning needs.

We were all in your shoes and understand many of the challenges you face. Plus making those connections is invaluable for building a broader network and community, which could lead to many opportunities beyond the classroom.” Wesley Swingley Associate Professor, Department of Biological Sciences |
