The Center for Latino and Latin American Studies (CLLAS) seeks nominations and self-nominations from students, faculty, and staff for students to serve as official student ambassadors.
Student ambassadors will meet each semester to:
- Help plan academic and cultural events
- Help organize promotional and outreach activities (visit college fairs, table at events, etc.)
- Earn community service and volunteer hours
- Share their voices and ask questions about LATS courses and center programming
- Share their experiences and provide feedback on ways we can improve the LATS minor and programming
Fall 2025 Meeting Hours
Meetings will be held weekly on Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Latino Center Smart Classroom.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in the LATS minor
- Select students will be enrolled in LATS 496 with Darius Jackson and earn 1 credit per semester.
- Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Represent CLLAS at various events and activities, including:
- Open houses and other recruitment events
- Monthly visits to local high schools for mentoring activities
- Engagement with the Latinx Living/Learning Community
