LGBTQ+ PRIDE MONTH

NIU Celebrates LGBTQ+ Pride Month

Throughout June NIU celebrates LGBTQ+ Pride Month! Join us in the Peters Campus Life Building from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16 for our fifth annual celebration. This year’s event will celebrate support and allyship of LGBTQ+ equity and inclusion at NIU. In large and small ways, so many individuals and units across campus collectively contribute to care, support and belonging of LGBTQ+ Huskies and their allies. This year, we celebrate you, this community, and all the good work happening on our campus!

Tips from Fellow Huskies

Attending class regularly has helped me stay engaged with the material and better understand the topics being taught. It also gives me the chance to ask questions, participate in discussions and learn directly from my professors. Being in class also helped me connect with other students who are like-minded and focused on their goals, which has led to great study groups and friendships.

My advice would be to build your network. Find ways to get involved that inspire you! Find clubs you enjoy; find departments to connect with; find faculty whose research interests you. I think one of the best things about NIU is there are many places to be engaged with, and people are always looking for more folks to get involved.
