We have a little more than a month left in the semester and juggling college with work, family, friends and life can get a little crazy sometimes. We all need a little help along the way. Be sure to take advantage of the resources we offer to help you stay on track and to keep the worry at bay.

SHARE your voice.
As an NIU student we need your voice. Help the university by taking the next few minutes to use your voice and complete the NIU campus climate survey called SHARE. The confidential information gathered through the SHARE survey will help NIU provide you and other Huskies with specific support and resources.
Completing the survey gives you a chance to win a $20 Starbucks gift card.

Save the date for Interfraternity Council Tugs: April 17-22, 2023
Tugs is an annual spring competition hosted by IFC that is similar to tug of war. With over half-a-century history, NIU's version of tugs differs from traditional tug-of-war competitions in that each individual team member stands in a "trench." The trenches allow each tugger on the team to obtain leverage and coordinate strategic moves.
Tugs is more than an annual competition. This philanthrophic event raises and donates money to an organization every year.

Are you ready for class registration?

Summer and Fall 2023 class registration begins April 3.
Now is the time to start preparing to register for summer and fall 2023 classes. Read the tips below and learn when to register and how to register for classes.
1. If you have not met with your advisor, do so. They are here to help you.
- It’s important to stay on track to graduation and your advisor is here to help ensure you are heading in the right direction.
- Remote advising is available. Options for remote advising could include virtual video conferences, phone calls, NIU emails or IM chats. Schedule an advising appointment through Navigate Student by clicking Appointments and selecting the "Advising" service, or contact your academic advising office to learn more about your options.
- Come prepared to your meeting with any concerns that you have. Your advisor can help answer your questions and point you to available resources.
2. Log in to MyNIU and Navigate Student.
- In MyNIU, you can check your enrollment date—the date and time you are able to register for classes.
- In Navigate Student, you can see a list of important, time-sensitive To-Do items related to class registration. You can also schedule an appointment with your academic advisor through Navigate Student by click on Appointments and selecting the "Advising" service.
- In both MyNIU and Navigate Student, you can see any holds on your account that may prevent you from registering for classes. Learn more about holds on student accounts.

Have an idea for a Homecoming event? Apply for a Homecoming Grant!

Do you have an idea for a homecoming event that you would like to see on campus, or want to enhance an existing homecoming event? The Homecoming Executive Committee invites all students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members to submit formal proposals for review! Proposals will be selected, and awarded up to $500 each, based on need and available funding. The deadline for submissions is April 14, 2023.

Campus Dining planning a home run for Opening Day!
Mark your calendar, Huskies! Opening Day is Thursday, March 30, and Campus Dining plans on hitting a home run with what it has planned. From 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the Grill at the Huskie Den will transform into an all-you-care-to-eat, baseball-themed lunch buffet that includes Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, nachos, Cracker Jack, dog bone cookies, games, prizes, photo ops and more! It’s a steal of a price at $7.99. Dining Dollars, Huskie Bucks and debit/credit accepted.
If you’re looking for Wrigley favorites, visit Neptune and Patterson for lunch and dinner. They’ll feature a new pork chop sandwich, beer brats, loaded garlic fries, funnel fries and the list goes on. Don’t drop the ball on this, Huskies. Get your team together and join us for an amazing day.

B.O.G.O. and Darts at the Bar at the Huskie Den
Huskies, the Bar at the Huskie Den has an enticing new B.O.G.O offer that’s too good to pass up. Buy one item off the “Starters” menu, get one free. The “Starters” menu includes mozzarella sticks, jalapeño poppers, 4 pcs. chicken strips and cheesy fries. Offer valid weekdays from 4 to 6 p.m. on menu items of equal or lesser value. Dining Dollars, Huskie Bucks and debit/credit accepted.

NIU Law to host Riley Lecture, unveil new Judges Wall, and Conduct PILS Auction on 3/31.
NIU Law will host its 29th Annual Francis X. Riley Lecture on Professionalism which will be given on Friday, March 31 from 5-6 pm at the NIU College of Law. Our featured speaker will be The Honorable James E. Snyder, Ret. (’88) who will present, “Inclusion, Preservation and Curiosity.” The lecture will be held in person at the law school in the Riley Courtroom (170) in Swen Parson Hall. 1-hour PMCLE credit for Illinois attorneys (pending approval). Participate in the De La Vega Innovation Pitch Competition.
Do you have an innovative business idea? Come pitch your business at the inaugural De La Vega Innovation Pitch Competition for the chance to win cash and prizes, meet like-minded entrepreneurs, and get valuable feedback from judges and potential investors.
NIU undergraduate and graduate students from all majors are invited to participate and must attend a pitching workshop on March 31, 2023. Business ideas from all industries are welcome. Teams (two to five members) have five minutes to pitch their new business idea to a panel of judges who will be rating it on the strength and feasibility of the idea. Register by April 7, 2023 to participate in the event.

Take your next step in Nutrition and Dietetics. If you want to help people make healthful food and nutrition choices, a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics and Wellness may be for you. Join us for an in-person open house on Thursday, April 13, between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Wirtz Hall, Room 308A. Coping Skills Workshops
Come join the Counseling & Consultation Services team as we practice and learn skills for coping with the difficult emotions that can arise during stressful times. In this one-hour, virtual workshop, you will learn how to apply specific coping strategies and skills for dealing with life’s challenges in a healthy way. This event is qualified for Business Passport and Honors Engaged credit!
