Advanced Accelerator R&D (AARD)

Welcome to the website of Piot's group in Advanced Accelerator R&D (AARD). Our group is part of the Accelerator & Beam Physics (ABP) group and carries research in Beam Physics and Accelerator Technology with emphasis on electron-beam generation, manipulations, acceleration, and diagnostics. We are located in the Department of Physics at Northern Illinois University and the Northern Illinois Center for Accelerator & Detector Development (NICADD). We carry laboratory experiments using facilities located in the Accelerator Physics Center at Fermilab, at the Argonne Wakefield Accelerator in Argonne and at the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY).
