My interest in languages developed after having studied at the University of Barcelona in Spain during my third year at the university. I fell in love with the languages, the people, as well as the culture. After graduating from college, I decided to take time off to travel and perfect my language skills, so I returned to Barcelona to teach English as a Second Language. Two master's degrees later, I am enjoying my eighth year as a Spanish instructor at Northern Illinois University. The highlight of my career so far has been teaching at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina through the Fulbright Teacher Exchange program. I have also recently backpacked through Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
