  • local admin upkeep
  • advanced features require develop skills

SharePoint is good for:

  • intranets/portals
  • announcements, dashboards, Wikis
  • document storage and sharing

Cascade

  • web design platform
  • little/no coding required
  • publishing workflow
  • quick content publishing
  • web design skills not required
 

But -

  • content not secure
  • complex user interface

Cascade is good for:

  • public facing web pages
