Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assist in the overall administration of two indoor recreation facilities, outdoor recreation fields and outdoor basketball courts. Duties include management of: facility reservations, facility contracts and rentals, maintenance, and special event production. Additional duties include: equipment inventory control, risk management, assessment, research, student supervision, and personnel development.

Huskie Pup Summer Camp Lead Counselor-$8.50-$9.00/hour, depending on qualifications
- Supervise, lead, and perform administrative functions for the Huskie Pup Summer Camp. Responsibilities include the implementation of all activities, interacting with campers, facilitating field trips, and participating in activities.

Fitness/Wellness
Group Fitness Class Attendants-$8.25/hour
- Responsible for checking in group fitness participants prior to class start times. Take and record accurate participation counts and participant statistics. Assist group fitness instructors with class preparations and equipment set-up and take-down, class reports, and activity room maintenance. Provide quality customer service to FitPass holders and potential participants, promote all fitness classes, and assist with group fitness class evaluations and special class initiatives.

Group Fitness Instructors-$8.25/hour + prep time
- Responsible for leading safe, effective, and fun fitness classes for Campus Recreation. Group Fitness leaders are responsible for providing fitness instruction, supervision, and a supportive exercise environment to all group fitness participants. Must be energetic and enthusiastic. Group fitness instructors are responsible for the continual development of personal fitness instruction skills and knowledge.
- Must have previous group fitness instruction experience, OR hold a national certification and have previous instruction experience, OR have completed the Campus Recreation Fitness Instructor Training Program. Auditions are part of the application and interview process.
- Must be CPR/AED and Blood Borne Pathogen certified.
Personal Trainers-$9.00/hour + prep time
- Work one-on-one with clients, providing them with specific exercise programs in cardiovascular exercise, resistance training, and flexibility. Conduct fitness assessments and consult with clients on personal needs and interests. Teach the benefits of exercise and wellness to assist with improving client quality of life through support and motivation.

- Assist in the administration of fitness and wellness programming for Campus Recreation and the NIU campus community. Interns are encouraged to work with the Assistant Director for Fitness/Wellness to tailor specific responsibilities to their personal interests and experiences.

Officials-$8.25/hour
- Learn and apply the rules and regulations of sports activities in the game environment. Sports include flag football, softball, soccer, basketball, floor hockey, and volleyball. Prior experience not required, will train.

Supervisors-$8.50/hour
- Responsible for on-site supervision of Intramural Sport programs and events conducted at the Student Recreation Center, Chick Evans Field House, on outdoor recreation fields, and other locations as necessary. Ensure participant adherence to policies and procedures of the program and facilities. Prepare equipment for programs and events. Provide site supervision of sports officials. Assist with the training and evaluation of sports officials.

Aquatics Manager-$8.75/hour
- Coordinate and manage all operational functions and aquatics student personnel for Anderson and Gabel Pools for Campus Recreation scheduled open and lap swimming times, special events, and pool rentals. Ensure that Campus Recreation and NIU policies and procedures are enforced. Directly supervise Area Attendants. Assist in hiring, training, and evaluating Area Attendants. Must establish and demonstrate good relationships with patrons, the ability to resolve conflicts, and communicate policies and procedures to patrons. Responsible for opening and securing Campus Recreation facilities.

Building Staff-$8.25/hour
- Responsible for the supervision and oversight of designated Campus Recreation program and facility areas. Perform tasks and projects including, but not limited to, equipment set-up, take-down, and distribution, maintaining inventory counts and reports, and cardio and strength training equipment cleaning at both the Student Recreation Center and Chick Evans Field House. Must be knowledgeable in the areas of risk management and emergency procedures and able to respond to emergencies within established guidelines. - Responsible for the Service Counter operations, including facility access and cash register functions. Must create a customer-friendly environment and be able to respond to customer questions and needs. Membership Services Attendants will greet patrons; provide access to eligible students, members, and guests; answer phones; assist patrons with court reservations; manage equipment check-out and inventory; and maintain the front office area. Attendants will also handle monetary transactions and paperwork filing and archiving.

Outdoor Adventure
Outdoor Adventures will accept completed applicant information until Sept 6, 2013.
Interviews will take place September. Mandatory training for new staff members will begin in October.

- This position is reserved for current Trip Leaders or Team Facilitators or applicants who are also interested in these positions.
- Responsible for: renting outdoor gear to the university community; instructing individuals on the appropriate use and care of equipment; providing information on various local, regional, and national recreation locations; inspecting and repairing equipment; and completing inventory reports, performing data entry tasks, and handling cash operations.

- Trip Leaders plan and lead trips for students interested in participating in outdoor recreational activities. Enthusiasm and experience in outdoor adventure is a must.
