The Student Association plays a critical role in the university’s system of shared governance. Campus Recreation consistently works with Student Association representatives in an effort discuss concerns and develop solutions that further advance recreational opportunities for NIU students. More specifically, the President, the Vice-President, the Director of Athletics & Recreation, and the Speaker of the Senate play a critical role in providing leadership and direction by serving as the voice of the student body regarding students’ recreational needs.
