License Plate Parking Requirements

When parking on campus, please be sure to follow these requirements for proper license plate display:
  • License plate(s) must be mounted properly on the vehicle per state vehicle code.
  • If you currently have a paper temporary plate, please ensure that it is displayed in the rear windshield, fully visible.
  • Park so your license plate faces the drive aisle of parking lot. See examples below.

Examples of Correct and Incorrect License Plate Display

Correct Display of License Plate

Park with your rear license plate visible from drive lane/parking lot aisle.
Back of car with a visible license plate

Park with your front license plate visible from drive lane/parking lot aisle.

Incorrect Display of License Plate

Do not back into parking spot if your car does not have a front license plate.

Do not block your license plate (i.e. with bike rack or trailer).
