Dear Huskie families,
Spring is on its way! No doubt your student is looking forward to this semester's Spring Recess March 12-19. Perhaps they have activities and trips in mind or they're simply looking to relax a bit. Whatever their plans, we hope they enjoy their time away. Here are some important reminders and things to consider as your student prepares for their break.

Fall Course Registration
Yes, it's hard to believe, but fall 2023 will be here before we know it. Registration for summer and fall classes opens April 3. One of the best ways for your student to stay on track, receive earlier access to financial aid and scholarships and get the classes they need is to register as early as possible. We provide numerous resources to help your student get ready to register.

Fall Housing
Room renewals for current students began Feb. 14, while room sign-ups for new students interested in living on campus open on March 13. If your student is interested in living on campus in the fall, please encourage them to renew or sign up through our Housing and Residential Services if they haven't yet. We offer step-by-step instructions on the process. Keep in mind our residence halls and Northern View Community apartments are great places for students to find their niche and stay engaged on campus.
Off-campus Housing
Is your student looking to live off campus? We offer resources for that, too. Through services provide by our Commuter and Off-Campus Programs, your student can search for off-campus housing and find a roommate. You'll also find resources on getting around NIU, including information about our Huskie Line bus system and Metra train station in nearby Elburn.
