Professional Background

Prior to joining the Office of General Counsel, Jim served as the attorney for the Kane County Sheriff's Merit Commission, where he practiced administrative, employment, and labor law. Before that, Jim spent ten years as a prosecutor with the Kane County State's Attorney's Office, where he first chaired over thirty jury trials and fifty bench trials. He practiced employment and labor law for a mid-sized Chicago law firm prior to becoming a prosecutor.

Upon graduation from law school, Jim served as a law clerk for the Honorable Michael S. Kanne, on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
