Gigi S. Beaird

Professional Background
Prior to coming to NIU Gigi worked in manufacturing and materials distribution for Avery Dennison in Rochelle, IL while completing her Associates of Science at Kishwaukee Community College. She came to NIU in 1997 and completed her Bachelor of Science while working in Holmes Student Center accounting office in the Division of Finance and Facilities. Gigi comes to the Office of General Counsel after ten years in Grants Fiscal Administration where she was the financial administrator for Federal research grants and contracts as well as student financial aid. She was a member of the Financial Management Systems users group as well as a member of the Uniform Guidance Taskforce that is developing implementation and compliance initiatives for Federal programs here at NIU.
In the NIU community, she continues to work on the Supervisory Committee for the NIU Employees Federal Credit Union after serving on the Credit Union Board of Directors for seven years and holding the position of Treasurer for two of those years. Gigi also served a term on the Operating Staff Council and participated in the Bold Futures workshops held across campus.
Responsibilities
Financial and accounting support for the Office of General Counsel, the Office of the President and VP of Marketing and Communications.
