The MLK Commons is the place to be beginning at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4. The Involvement Fair, the Campus Meets Community Block Party, and Food Truck Wednesday are all taking place in the heart of campus. Encourage students to come learn about our student organizations and academic departments, discover local DeKalb businesses and grab a bite to eat from some of our local favorite food vendors.
The Involvement Fair is a two-day event and will continue on Thursday, Sept. 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the MLK Commons.

Navigate helps students succeed by connecting them with a network of coordinated care and providing an avenue to stay engaged throughout their time at NIU.

President's Office Seeks Applications for President Staff Fellow Program.
|
The Office of the President seeks to identify a member of the Supportive Professional Staff or Operating Staff interested in serving a year-long professional development fellowship. The Office of the President Staff Fellow will be assigned special projects needed to carry out the functions of the Office of the President and will be afforded professional development opportunities. The fellow will be appointed for the 2025 calendar year and will report to the university’s chief strategy officer. Learn more about the President Staff Fellow Program, including how to apply. The deadline for applications is Monday, Sept. 30.

Have you considered changing a few nutrition habits and are looking for guidance? Do you know what to do, but need accountability to get there? NIU Recreation has you covered. Meet with one of our nutrition coaches to learn eating strategies for your nutrition challenge — whether you want to lose weight, get stronger at the gym, improve a health marker or build a better relationship with food — we’re here to help. For a one-time fee of only $99, meet with a nutrition coach through the fall semester (rates outside NIU range from $70-$100 per session). The earlier you register, the more sessions you’ll receive this fall (up to 12 visits).

- Students traveling abroad on behalf of our university or for university business or interests must purchase supplemental travel insurance; details provided at registration.
- All NIU faculty, staff, students, volunteers and groups traveling to Level 3 or Level 4 Travel Advisory Areas must purchase supplemental travel insurance; details provided at registration.
- Travel abroad should be registered 30 days in advance.
- Those traveling as part of a study abroad credit-bearing program will be registered through our Study Abroad office.

Submit August journals before end of business Friday, Sept. 6. Final August reports are scheduled to be available Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024.
