New AI Guidance for Marketing and Communications Materials

University Marketing has posted new guidance on the responsible use of artificial intelligence in materials that represent NIU, covering acceptable uses of AI tools, disclosure expectations and quality standards for AI-generated content.

In particular, AI-generated flyers and graphics with inaccurate or distorted NIU logos have recently appeared on social media. It can be tempting to generate a full flyer in minutes with AI, but the guidance is clear: AI-generated designs are not permitted as final products, and AI should never be used to reproduce, recreate or alter the NIU logo. Ask Creative Services to create final promotional materials and route any AI-assisted concepts through Clearinghouse review. When promoting an event, a well-written post or a link to the event's listing on NIU's calendar is often the most effective approach.

Questions can be directed to University Marketing at marketing@niu.edu.

Help Students Prepare for the All-majors Internship and Job Fair

Help your students get career-ready! The All-majors Internship and Job Fair is coming up on Wednesday, September 30, and we’d love your help encouraging students to participate! Students can start researching employers now and identify organizations they are interested in connecting with at the fair. View participating employers.

We also have our Graduate and Professional School Fair coming up. Please share this opportunity with students who may be considering graduate or professional school and encourage them to RSVP in advance.

Thank you for helping us get the word out and encouraging students to take advantage of these opportunities to connect with employers and explore their next steps!

Looking to Hire Student Workers? Sign Up to Participate in the All-majors Internship and Job Fair.

NIU Career Services invites NIU departments to participate in the upcoming All-majors Internship and Job Fair from 1-4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at the Convocation Center. Departments who are hiring student workers are particularly encouraged to sign up.

Departments should register for the event as an employer and select “NIU Department $0” to sign up at no cost. This is a great opportunity to connect with students and recruit for open positions.
