Scholarly Interests
My research is in the areas of crime, violence, social control, and stigma and recovery from mental illness. My current work focuses on the relationships between mental illness, homelessness and crime in Finland. I hold the title of Dosentti from the University of Helsinki. My work has been published in journals such as American Journal of Sociology, Criminology, Journal of Health and Social Behavior, Aggression and Violent Behavior, Society and Mental Health, International Criminology, Advances in Criminological Theory, Deviant Behavior, Military Psychology and Nordic Journal of Criminology.
