Rec Center Open House

Experience the challenge of crate climbing, participate in obstacle courses, 3-point contests, Group Fitness classes and more! Meet and greet with NIU's awesome Sport Clubs. Learn about events offered this fall including Group Fitness classes, Outdoor Adventure trips and special events, and Intramural leagues and tournaments. Corn Fest Corn Boil
Aug. 26, 11 a.m–2 p.m., downtown DeKalb
The Chuck Siebrasse Corn Boil serves up free steamed sweet corn from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. (or when corn runs out) at the corner of 4th St and Lincoln Hwy. Over 100,000 people from around the Midwest attend the event which serves over 70 tons of sweet corn during the weekend! Catch a free ride on the Huskie Bus Line to this Corn Fest tradition from the HSC bus turnaround every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Color Run

Starting at the Campus Recreation Center parking lot, you can walk, run or roll the mile-long course while being showered in colorful powder.
President’s Welcome Back Picnic

Starting Strong Workgroup

How to Write the Introduction to Your Thesis/Dissertation

**ONLINE** You have picked a topic and a focus, but now you have to begin framing how you envision your research. The introduction sets the stage for the entire study, so this workshop will demystify the difference between a problem statement and the significance of the study. It will also explain why you need to define the terms and establish a general direction for the theoretical framework and the methodology.
