Course Description

GEOG 106 is the lab component for GEOG 105 (both courses are part of NIU's general education program) and is intended to provide non-meteorology majors with a basic understanding of how the atmosphere works and impacts our lives and environment on time scales that range from minutes to seasons. Through lab assignments and quizzes, students will be introduced to two learning outcomes: 1) quantitative reasoning and 2) scientific reasoning.

Course Format

In class lecture, lab assignment, outdoor activities, atmospheric instrumentation, mid-term exam, and final exam.
