Professional Background

Matt is a third year law student at NIU Law. Before attending NIU law, at the University of Iowa Law Library, Matt conducted research for Professor Timothy Hagel’s United States Supreme Court project on determining which issues are most likely to be granted certiorari by the Court.  At NIU Law, Matt has been a summer law clerk for Justice Robert Carter of the Illinois 3rd District Appellate Court.  He also serves as an assistant editor on the Law Review and works as a research assistant for Constitutional Law Professor Lawrence Schlam.  Matt volunteers for the Illinois Supreme Court’s Access to Justice Commission and works on their mediation project.  He is also a member of several student organizations in the College of Law, including the Public Interest Law Society and Women’s Law Caucus.

  • Handle bursars collections accounts
  • Conduct legal research on special projects
