X-Ray Facility

The departmental X-Ray Facility houses two X-ray instruments, a Rigaku Miniflex Powder Diffractometer and a Bruker CCD Single Crystal Diffractometer.

The Rigaku Miniflex Powder X-Ray Diffractometer utilizes Cu Kα radiation with a fixed receiving slit 0.3 mm. The instrument is supported also by Jade Search and Match software and JCDD PDF-II database.
The Bruker CCD X-Ray Diffractometer utilizes monochromated Mo Kα radiation. Data collection at low temperature is supported by a liquid nitrogen device.
