Clark Neher
Professor Emeritus of Political Science, Northern Illinois University
Professor Neher served as the chair of the Department of Political Science from 1982-1988 and 1993-1996. Additionally, he served as director of the Center for Southeast Asian Studies from 1996-1999. In 1997, he was named Presidential Teaching Professor.
Professor Neher is an internationally recognized specialist in Southeast Asian politics with particular emphasis in Thailand. He is the recipient of two prestigious Fullbright Fellowships (one to Thailand and the other to the Philippines) and also served as a Peace Corps instructor.
Professor Neher received his B.A. and M.A. from Stanford University and his Ph.D. from UCLA.
