Directions and Hours

Hours

Due to the sensitive nature of the materials housed at the center, public access to the building is restricted to business hours (8 a.m.-4 p.m. CDT, Monday-Friday) by appointment only. If you’d like to schedule an appointment, please call 815-753-7060 or email fvsa@niu.edu.

Driving

From I-88, exit at Annie Glidden Road. Turn left at Lincoln Highway (Rt. 38) and head west. Take the second right after the Convocation Center onto Presidents Blvd. The Center for the Study of Family Violence and Sexual Assault will be down the road on the left.

Parking

Any color NIU parking sticker is able to park in the parking lot. The center has a limited amount of visitor parking passes. If you require a visitor pass, please contact us at fvsa@niu.edu prior to your appointment.

Walking

If you are walking from the residence halls, you would head toward to the Convocation Center. The Center for the Study of Family Violence and Sexual Assault is across the parking lot to the west (further away from campus). The building does not have a sign.

Huskie Bus

If you are taking the bus, the center is located on the same road as Northern View Apartments (south of the apartments and directly west of the Convocation Center). The Route 2 Huskie bus route will take you to the Convocation Center. From the stop closest to the Convocation Center and the access road to Northern View apartments, walk west and The Center for the Study of Family Violence will be straight ahead.
