The Department of Music is seeking applications from current NIU employees for an Office Administrator position. This role serves as a primary liaison with university departments, college administration, Registration and Records, and external organizations to support academic and administrative initiatives.

Responsibilities also include oversight of room scheduling, key and facility management, concert program production, music licensing compliance, student recital attendance tracking, and maintenance of communication platforms and event calendars.

Looking to participate in this year’s involvement fair? The involvement fair takes place Sept. 2 in the MLK Commons and Sept. 3 virtually. All student organizations and departments can sign up for both days.

The Sept. 2 event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Student organizations and departments can check in for their table at 10 a.m. If your student organization/department does not check in by 11 a.m., your table may be given to another organization/department. You can have no more than to two people at your table. A reminder email will be sent out the week before.

The virtual Sept. 3 runs all day. Instructions on how to manage your virtual booth will be sent out prior to the fair. You must have a Huskie Hub page to participate in the virtual fair.

Student Move-in is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 19 and Thursday, Aug. 20. GIVE Circles are opportunities for participants — whether students, faculty or staff — to engage in deep listening and conversation of shared experiences related to various topics. These are moments to build connections, understanding and empathy among those participating. GIVE Circles play an important role in bringing our campus community together to explore our common humanity. 

As a facilitator, you play an important part in creating and maintaining spaces on campus for students, faculty and staff to establish self-agency and cultivate a sense of belonging.

The month of July is closing for all financial reporting activity at noon Monday, Aug. 10, 2026. Journals not posted at that time will go into August business. Submit July journals before end of business Friday, Aug. 7. Final July reports are scheduled to be available Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026.
