I9 Forms to be Completed In-person Starting Monday, August 23, 2021, in compliance with federal law, individuals completing the online I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification form are required to meet in-person with a Human Resource Services (HRS) staff member in one of the HRS office locations (either on Lincoln Highway or in Swen Parson).
Individuals should make an appointment with an HRS staff member (walk-ins are allowed between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday) before their first day of employment and bring the original, unexpired documents that were uploaded into the online I-9 system. Immediate and proper completion of the I-9, onboarding and orientation portals and all relevant paperwork will help us enter new hires and rehires in the NIU system in a timely manner, preventing delays in the processing of payroll and access to NIU portals.
Human Resource Services to Partner with New Background Check Vendor Human Resource Services (HRS) is moving to a new background check vendor, HireRight. The planned rollout time for this enhancement is mid-September and background check requests will only be submitted online at that time. HRS and HireRight are offering three virtual training sessions via Zoom for employees with hiring manager access in PeopleAdmin.
The dates, times and links for the training sessions are:
During the training you will learn about your login access, how to place an order, what the applicant experience is like, and how to monitor the status of a background check and view results.
Anyone with hiring manager access in PeopleAdmin is strongly encouraged to attend one of the three Zoom trainings. No pre-registration is required. Just join the meeting on the day and time that you want to attend. If you have any questions regarding the training, please contact Shay Hanlon at shanlon2@niu.edu.
