Free NIH Virtual Grants Seminar Nov. 1-4, 2021 The National Institutes of Health (NIH) will be offering a free virtual seminar on program funding and grants administration on Nov. 1 through 4, 2021. The seminar is designed to provide faculty and staff with a unique opportunity to learn about the NIH grants process, programs and policies directly from NIH and Health and Human Science experts. Family Fun with STEAM Studio This October, join NIU STEAM for Saturday sessions for the whole family – just $10 per family of four. Two-hour sessions in the morning or afternoon offer your family the chance to design and build an air-powered rocket or try out basic coding with Sphero or Arduino. Adults should stay for the whole session - projects are designed so adults and children work together. Learn more and register.

Live theater returns with a full season of productions at the NIU School of Theatre and Dance
A full season of live theater and dance productions returns to NIU this year, as the School of Theatre and Dance welcomes back audiences to the theaters in the Stevens Building on the main campus.
From classics like Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, new adaptions of Three Sisters, Edward II, RUR, The Conference of the Birds adapted from Attar’s epic poem, to newer offerings like Ike Holter’s Hit the Wall and Julia Cho’s The Language Archive there is something for everyone.
Building a pipeline: 11 selected for Emerging Faculty Leaders Program
Eleven NIU faculty members have been selected to participate in the first cohort of the new Emerging Faculty Leaders Program, which aims to bolster leadership capacity across campus.
The Provost’s Office earlier this fall launched the initiative, led by Alicia Schatteman, director of the Center for Nonprofit and NGO Studies and an associate professor of nonprofit management in the Department of Public Administration, and Vice Provost of Faculty Affairs Chad McEvoy.
