Open forums scheduled for Vice President for Administration and Finance and Chief Financial Officer Candidates.
The campus community has the opportunity to participate in a series of in-person open forums where they can meet and ask questions of the finalists for the position of Vice President for Administration and Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Northern Illinois University. Each session will last 60 minutes and all participants, virtual or in person, are encouraged to fill out an evaluation of the candidate which will be sent after each session. Funding for spring 2023 undergraduate research projects available.
Applications for spring 2023 Student Engagement Fund (SEF) and Research, Engagement and Academic Diversity (READ) Grant are currently being accepted and have a due date of Monday, Oct. 31. SEF and READ support projects that consist of undergraduate students working on faculty-mentored research, community-based projects and projects focused on social justice and diversity. Student and faculty submissions are considered.
Recipients of the funds are provided financial support of up to $2,500 for research related expenses including project supplies and conference registration (for the student). Additionally, students working on the project are eligible for up to $1,200 in compensation for their work as an undergraduate research assistant.

Human Resource Services offers Microsoft Office training.
Due to the overwhelming demand for Office 365 training offered by Human Resources Services (HRS) and trainer Cindy Kozumplik, additional Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint training has been added to the remaining calendar year. Find the full training schedule and/or register for a session.
There are also new courses coming for 2023 with topics in Outlook, Teams and SharePoint, along with some advanced topics for Word, Excel and PowerPoint. If there is a particular area you are interested in learning in these topics, please send to Training@niu.edu.
Cindy will continue to hold office hours in October providing individual assistance in Microsoft as needed.

The month of September is closing for all financial reporting activity at noon Monday, Oct. 10, 2022. Journals not posted at that time will go into October business. Submit September journals before end of business Friday, Oct. 7. Final September reports are scheduled to be available Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022.
