Interactive map now incorporates campus improvements and repairs.

There are many improvements and repairs happening on campus and NIU's interactive map now displays where and when projects are taking place. One of the current projects on the interactive map is asphalt paving work on Recreation Drive north of the Convocation Center. Barricades will be going up early this week and work will proceed through the week of Aug. 21. View the interactive campus map to learn more about campus construction and repair projects.

 

Parking Lot maintenance scheduled.

Three parking areas will be temporarily unavailable due to facility maintenance during the month of August. Disruptions in service will be short in duration (weather permitting).

Lot 2 (east of Anderson Hall) – Aug. 14-18.

Lot 36 (south of Founders Memorial Library) – Aug. 18-19.

Wellness and Literacy – Aug. 17-22.

 

Aug. 14 online workshop will introduce you to UNIV 301.

Interested in learning more about UNIV 301: Braven Career and Leadership Accelerator? Join a short virtual workshop Braven will host on Monday, August 14: Braven’s Career Blueprint: Crafting Your Path to Success. You’ll learn about UNIV 301, career readiness skills for professional development and get an introduction to what Braven can offer you during and after UNIV 301. More than 400 Huskies already have completed UNIV 301 since it began in Fall 2022.

Policy Library update – revised policies

Revised policies are open to review and comment for a 30-day period. This provides our NIU community the opportunity to consider and respond to the revised policies before they take effect. The revised policies are:

  • Sexual Misconduct Policy and Complaint Procedures: Comments due Aug. 11.
  • Asbestos Management Plan: Comments due Aug. 19.
  • Code of Student Conduct: Comments due Sept. 2.

To submit a comment, go to our policy library website. Click on “Comment on New/Renew Policies.” You’ll be able to review the policies and provide your comments. If you have any questions, please contact the university policy librarian at policy-library@niu.edu.

Book Charge Program open now through Sept. 8, 2023.

If you are receiving financial aid, you have a convenient method of buying books and school supplies at the beginning of each semester. You can use your OneCard ID at Huskie Books and Gear to purchase your books and school supplies using your student bursar account and you will be billed at a later day. Please visit the Bursar's Office website for billing and payment due dates. The book charge program is now open through Sept. 8, 2023.

For best service levels, order your course materials as soon as you see them posted on the Huskie Books and Gear online store. You can shop for materials one of two ways. If you enter your student ID number, preceded by a zero, the list of materials needed for all your classes will populate. Simply add them to your shopping cart for purchase. You can also shop for materials by course by entering your course information into the dropdown boxes that appear on the website.
