Housing and Residential Services is seeking volunteers to be a part of Team NIU to lend a helping hand with new students for their move-in Aug. 20 and 21. Have you completed your 2025-26 FAFSA?

The 2025-26 FAFSA will be is now available. Visit the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office for assistance completing your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid. All students eligible for financial aid who plan to enroll next year should complete a new FAFSA or Alternative Application each year, as soon as possible, to be considered for the maximum amount of financial aid.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. Specifically, in advising, if you don't ask about topics such as minors and double majors, you would never know if that was possible. And you never know what something like a minor could add to a resume. And don't forget to join at least one club! There are so many to choose from. You never know who you will meet or what doors will be opened for you.
