Summary

The systems approach is a logical approach for analyzing environmental management problems and developing solutions. The systems approach allows seeing the big picture as well as the various interacting components of a system. Understanding the scope of a system, its processes, inputs, outputs, constraints, and mechanisms is essential for EMS implementation.
