Rosalie Reynolds
Memorial Scholarship Fund
This endowed scholarship fund has been established to honor the life and memory of
Rosalie Dean Reynolds, the first woman granted tenure in the Department and a
member of its faculty from 1961 to 1981. It has been established in honor of
her long service to the University and to the Department, and in recognition of
her devotion to the profession of teaching.
The Rosalie
Reynolds Memorial Teaching Scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior in
the chemistry teacher certification program. The recipient will be selected by committee. There is no application.
Van Acker-Duminy-Kovarik Scholarship Fund
Isabelle Duminy-Kovarik graduated from NIU with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in
1980 and a Master of Science in Education degree in Secondary Education in
1987. This endowed scholarship fund has been established in memory of her
parents, who instilled in her a great regard and high value for education.
This Scholarship is awarded to an incoming undergraduate student. Preference will be given to females planning to pursue inorganic chemistry and/or teaching. The scholarship is selected by committee. There is no application.
