Advising

All incoming students, including transfer students, should meet with their college advisor and discipline (science) advisor before they register for their first semester classes and every semester thereafter.  These advising sessions will allow students to plan schedules wisely and efficiently.

Students pursuing certification are required to meet with the Science Teacher Certification Coordinator in Faraday 323 at least once per semester. Students should start these advisement sessions as soon as they decide to pursue science teacher certification. 

In order to ensure the best advising experience possible, students are also required to download and maintain a copy of the Advising Checklist for Science (Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, Environmental Science, or Physics) Teacher Certification. (See links at right). This checklist must be brought to the student's advising appointment with the Science Education Coordinator each semester.
