Undergraduate Advising in Psychology

815-753-0372

We would like for our students to receive academic advising at least once each semester.  We want their stay here to be smooth and rewarding. Many questions that you might have regarding what Psychology classes you need for graduation can be answered by looking at our B.A. or B.S. class checklist or by downloading the Psychology Major Handbook.

If you need to make an appointment regarding psychology classes or requirements, please stop by the Advising Appointment Bulletin Board across from the Psychology Main office (Room 400, Psychology Building) to sign up for an appointment with a faculty undergraduate advisor.  If you are not a current student and would like to make an appointment, please call the main office at 815-753-0372 and one of our staff will find a time that works for you to meet with one of our advisors.

If you need more general advising on classes outside of the Psychology department, such as general education requirements, visit the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in Zulauf Hall 201 or call 815-753-0114 between 8:00 and noon or 1:00-4:30.

Some of your questions might be answered by reviewing the B.A. Worksheet, the B.S. Worksheet, or the full Psychology Undergraduate Handbook. If you have questions that can not be answered, please make an advising appointment (see above).  Finally, after doing all of the above and reviewing these materials, you can email PsycAdvising@niu.edu if you have an advising question.
