Programs & Services
There are many varied services provided by the Psychological Services Center. For instance, the PSC houses the Anxiety Disorders Service (ADS). The ADS provides treatment and resources for a variety of anxiety problems, such as Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and phobias.
The PSC also provides services such as kindergarten-readiness and learning disorder assessments to students (K-12) in public and private schools, as well as day care and preschool settings. Assessments are also avalable for college students, both at NIU and elsewhere. Other services available at the PSC include special skills training for parents to help work with child behavior management and/or emotional problems, social skills training, diagnostic assessment, and treatment for a wide range of emotional and other problems.
