Program of Courses

Students focus their training in either Social or I/O psychology. Upon completion of the requisite coursework, candidacy examinations are tailored to reflect this emphasis. Prior to taking candidacy exams, students may elect to change the focus of their training by completing the coursework that corresponds to the new emphasis.

In addition to completing departmental M.A. requirements, students choose from the following courses. Courses marked with a * indicates courses required for both emphases. In addition, students typically choose four courses in their emphasis and two in the other field. At least four Tools (statistics) classes are required for students in both emphases, but students are encouraged to complete all Tools courses.
