Professional Background

Sarmistha (Buri) Banerjee is a third-year law student. She is active in several student organizations in the College of Law, including the American Constitution Society (President), the Asian and Pacific American Law Student Association (Events Coordinator), and the Women's Law Caucus (Mentor). She is a frequent speaker at events for incoming and prospective students hosted by the Office of Admissions at the College of Law. She was a Finalist in the 2012 Mock Trial Competition, and was selected as a member of the College of Law team for the 2013 U.S. Midwest Regional round of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, where she won the award for Second Best Oralist. Buri has been a Legal Intern (Summer Internship Program) at BP America, Inc., a Research Assistant for Dean Jennifer L. Rosato and Prof. Lawrence Schlam in the College of Law, and a Student Associate for LexisNexis.
