Marybeth Kurnat

Marybeth Kurnat (instructor, counselor) earned her bachelor’s degree in music education from NIU in 2011; her instruments are saxophone and voice. She has a performance background in wind ensembles, big band, jazz combo, pit orchestra, choir and opera. Currently she teaches 7-12 band, 9-12 choir, and musical theater at North Boone High School and Middle School in Poplar Grove, Illinois, and maintains a private woodwind studio with students in DeKalb, Sycamore and Naperville. She was a counselor at the 2011 NIU Jazz Camp.
