CSA Concerto Competition Winner - Katherine Gallagher

We are pleased to announce that this year's winner of the CSA Sinfonia Concerto Competition is Katherine Gallagher. Her piece was the First Movement of Concerto No. 5 in A minor by Henri Vieuxtemps. She will perform this with the orchestra on February 18! Congratulations Katherine!  We would like to thank everyone who auditioned this year, we applaud your dedication and artistry and hope to see you all again soon!

NIU Community School of the Arts

Registration is open for the Fall Semester 2014.  Register for lessons, ensembles, and classes!  The program offers activities for children and adults.

NEA Grants

The community school wrapped up the programming in spring 2014 for the third and final grant from the National Endowment for the Arts! The three $10,000 awards were made by the NEA's Arts Education in American Communities Initiative and were used to support and enhance activities planned in 2012, 2013, and 2014. More information about the activities that were funded by the grants is available.  More information is available about the National Endowment for the Arts.

Regional Credit Classes for the College of Visual and Performing Arts

The off-campus and online Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 course offerings for the NIU School of Art are now available. Register for the fall courses now through MyNIU.  Spring courses will be available for registration later in fall.
