NIU Community School of the Arts

National Endowment for the Arts Grant
The community school received a $10,000 award to support activities planned in 2012.  This money has been used for guest artists and other programming.  In February 2012, Burt Hara, principal clarinetist of the Minnesota Orchestra, was the guest clinician for Clarinet Cornucopia.  Read more upcoming programs supported by the NEA grant:  Ellsworth residency and Tim Blickhan's commissioned piece, both for the CSA Children's Choir; the Barston residency, and Tony Devroye's mentorship with CSA Sinfonia.

Summer 2012
It is time to sign up for your summer lessons and classes!  The deadline for registrations is June 11.

Performathon 2012 Update:  The event on March 10 was a triumph!  Four wonderful hours of music and lots of fun activities made for a wonderful day.  To date, we have raised $6,500!  hank you to everyone who made this event such a great success.
