Summer in the Arts at Northern (February flyer)
Deborah Booth (dbooth@niu.edu) has been the director of the program since 1992. She came to the job after working in the continuing education area of the university for a number of years. Before that, she was a journalist for a newspaper in England and a producer for a public television station in Pennsylvania. She has a bachelor's degree in English from Franklin and Marshall College and a master's degree in English, with a film emphasis, from NIU. She has two children, both alums of the NIU Community School of the Arts.
Amanda Fawcett-Lothson (amanda.fl@niu.edu) is the program assistant. She started work in the office in August of 2012 after earning a master's degree in Music History from NIU. Before getting a master's she earned a bachelor's degree in violin performance from Indiana University and currently teaches for the community school. Her role in the office includes answering phones, processing registrations, working with teachers and students and maintaining our social media.
Doris Grubbs handles the budget work for the office. Doris recently retired as office administrator from the College of Education.
